After High School I attended CSU Bakersfield for two years until I soon decided that I wasn't quite ready for school yet, I wanted to party a little... After the partying had died down, somewhat, I went to work for the Santa Barbara County Park's Department for almost 3 year's. Then in 1974 I returned to Bakersfield and went to work for Warner Cable Channel 2 as a Technical Director and Staff Announcer. That job got me very interested in electronic's so before leaving the job, in June of 1976, I gave the Manager of Warner Cable Channel 2 (Lyle Murphy) one last chance to keep me as an employee by asking him for a raise. When he turned me down I walked out of the office never to return... Shortly after leaving the station I contacted an old friend of mine that used to be a roommate of mine at CSU Bakersfield. He was now working as a Naval Recruiter, in San Fernando, CA, and I asked him if he thought there might be any chance of my being able to re-enlist in the U.S. Navy.
